Today I spoke with Andrew Scott-Howman a litigation partner with Bell Gully, Wellington, NZ - my old and much loved law firm.
Andrew heads a very active employment law team and because of the statutory framework we have around employment problems in NZ, he must mediate almost all of his cases via the Goverment Employment Mediation Service. So he sees a lot of mediators.
Only if unsuccessful can employment cases then proceed to a decision making Authority and from there to the Employment Court.
Andrew also has one of the most sought after legal jobs in New Zealand, acting for many players in our All Black national rugby side.
